Maintenance Technician 1st Shift - Claremont Plant ID - 14075

About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Tyson Foods in Claremont, NC, is a full-time role focused on ensuring the operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment and systems. This facility operates six days a week, producing sandwiches and bakery items, and is committed to maintaining a safe work environment while adhering to company policies and procedures. Technicians will work 12-hour shifts on a 2-3-2 schedule, which allows for every other weekend off. The pay range for this position is between $23.95 and $34.20 per hour, depending on experience, with a shift differential of $1 for night shifts. There is also potential for rapid advancement based on completed training and demonstrated skills on the job. In this role, technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets. This includes performing preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustment, rebuilding, and scheduled service. Technicians will also assist operators during changeovers and are expected to maintain proper housekeeping in their work areas, ensuring that equipment is clean and orderly at all times. The role requires a proactive approach to safety and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Candidates must be able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance and stand for extended periods in varying temperature conditions, ranging from 30 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Basic computer skills are necessary for completing required training and tasks, and effective verbal communication is essential for training environments.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair all production equipment including ovens, freezers, cartoners, and wrappers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustment, and scheduled service.
  • Assist operators during changeovers and maintain proper housekeeping in work areas.
  • Maintain all required records and promote plant safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Identify parts and supplies needed to complete job tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or currently enrolled in an Industrial Mechanics program.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for completing required training and tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in industrial maintenance is preferred.
