Clerk Typist 1- File Room (Local Government) Westmoreland County C&Y ID - 11971

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
A Clerk Typist 1 performs routine clerical work involving the typing and processing of documents in a variety of functions. This includes typing handwritten information onto forms, letters, and charts, proofreading to ensure accuracy. Work involves filing and retrieving materials by systematically sorting and storing documents alphabetically, numerically, chronologically, or using similar filing methods. As a receptionist, you will have the opportunity to greet visitors, direct individuals to proper office locations, screen and route telephone calls, and open and sort mail. Additionally, you will receive applications, documents, forms, and fees directly from the public for further processing.

 

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Possession of the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County. If no eligible candidates who live within Westmoreland County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
 

Legal Requirements: 
You must pass a background investigation.
A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
