The Energy Practice in Latin America counts with teams based in Miami, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia, who work closely with experts around the globe.

• Disputes, Litigation & Arbitration: We act as independent economic experts in complex and high-stakes disputes to advise tribunals on energy markets issues and the quantification of damages.

• Policy & Regulation: We advise energy ministries, regulators and regulated companies on the design and impact of regulatory regimes applicable to electricity, gas, carbon, fuels and related markets.

• Strategy & Business Transformation: We use our deep energy market knowledge to conduct strategic reviews and implement industrial plans, define ESG policies and decarbonisation roadmaps.

• Transaction Advisory: We provide support in transactions in the energy sector in the context of mergers, acquisitions or restructurings, serving as M&A advisors or providing independent commercial, regulatory, operational and financial due diligence.

About The Role

FTI Consulting is recruiting a Graduate or Entry Level Consultant for its Energy team. The candidate will be based in Miami with possibility of hybrid working (physical and remote) and with travel to Latin America.

The candidate is expected to take responsibility for small engagements or workstreams on larger engagements; detailed market research; economic analysis; quantitative, industry and market analysis; and clear, concise and structured presentations and written reports.

The candidate will interact regularly with our senior experts, who will provide guidance, advice and training to support the development of the Senior Consultant's career.

Suitable candidates will be passionate for the energy sector and enjoy developing and applying bespoke approaches in a rigorous and creative manner. The ideal candidate will have an eye for both the big picture and the finer detail.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in the energy sector in Latin America in Disputes, Litigation & Arbitration, Policy & Regulation, Strategy & Business Transformation or Transactions in at least one of the following countries: Mexico, Colombia, or Brazil (other Latin American countries are desired);

• Experience conducting economic, policy and regulation analysis;

• Experience developing analytical models in the energy sector;

• Knowledge of recent energy market developments such as market design reforms, decarbonisation policies, electricity storage, biofuels and renewable gasses (hydrogen, biomethane, syngas), ESG policies;

• Knowledge of energy data bases and reference market reports (e.g. wholesale market data, commodities, Bloomberg, IEA, IRENA, etc.).

Authorization to work in the US is required.
