Impact of an EVP, Engineering Operations & Deliverability

Reporting to the CTO, this role serves as the bridge between strategy and execution—empowering teams, fostering accountability, and shaping a culture of high performance and continuous growth. Leadership in this capacity will directly influence the scalability, efficiency, and long-term success of Platform.sh.

Key areas of impact:

  • Operations (SRE): Elevate platform stability and operational resilience by embedding a proactive, reliability-focused culture across a fleet of tens of thousands of servers.
  • Platform Engineering: Strengthen and scale the architecture and core systems to support sustained growth and innovation.
  • Customer-Experience Engineering: Ensure development decisions drive measurable customer value, enhancing user experience and product differentiation.
  • Engineering Operations: Optimize engineering workflows by refining processes, implementing the right tools, and fostering efficiency across teams.

This newly created role underscores a commitment to scaling intentionally. It plays a vital part in ensuring engineering efforts align with business objectives while driving transformational initiatives that position Platform.sh at the forefront of industry innovation.

What you can expect

  • Partner closely with the CTO to translate high-level strategy into actionable goals for the engineering teams. Your initial focus will be on establishing structures, reporting frameworks, and processes to articulate engineering’s contributions and enable effective prioritization.
  • Ensure resource allocation balances the development of new features with maintenance and technical debt management, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Proactively embed SRE principles to enhance platform stability and operational resilience.
  • Deepen alignment between engineering, product, and design teams to deliver exceptional solutions. By fostering early and frequent collaboration, you’ll ensure engineering’s contributions are integral to creating user-focused, innovative products.
  • Empower engineers to take initiative, drive measurable results, and continuously improve. Build an environment where diverse perspectives are celebrated and team members feel inspired to grow, learn, and succeed.
  • Lead key projects that elevate the engineering organization’s agility and scalability. With a focus on reinvention and innovation, you will position Platform.sh for continued success and growth.
