About the position:
The Senior Manager of our Product Engineering Practice will be responsible for owning and driving the growth of skills and competencies within the practice while ensuring delivery excellence across all engagements. This role will have Technical Managers reporting into it and will be key to the success of our managers by developing their people management skills and will play a critical leadership role in developing talent, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and experimentation, and implementing best practices for continuous improvement within the practice. The Senior manager will also be expected to deliver leadership on client engagements, provide thought leadership, market intelligence, and participate in all levels of the business development process including pre-sales, proposals, SOW creation etc.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Pre-Sales:
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
    • Serve as a consultant to our clients and deliver high-quality software engineering solutions for their needs
    • Maintain visibility across all engagements, proactively addressing risks and challenges.
    • Work closely with project leads to drive consistency in best practices and delivery methodologies.
    • Work closely with client success to implement and refine processes to continuously showcase and improve our customer-facing impact and support delivery.
    • Assist account teams with strategic account growth by identifying new opportunities within existing client portfolios.
    • Assist account executives with pre-sales efforts and solution designs to help expand the client portfolio.

Practice Leadership:
    • Mentor and develop managers, ensuring strong leadership at all levels.
    • Coach team members on effective management and leadership strategies.
    • Conduct performance reviews and track career development goals to ensure team growth and retention.
    • Identify promotion eligibility and create structured development pathways for consultants.
    • Aid hiring efforts to attract top talent and build a high-performing, diverse team.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous learning within the practice.
    • Encourage a knowledge-sharing culture through internal workshops, learning sessions, and mentorship.
Competencies we are looking for:

Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • 8+ years of professional experience in a technical Software Engineering role utilizing technologies such as Java, Golang, and/or Python.
    • 3+ years leading teams and/or in a technical manager role.
    • 2+ years of technology consulting experience.
    • 3+ years working with AWS tools.
    • 2+ years of database experience with Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
    • Proven track record of growing and leading teams within a consulting or technology environment.
    • Strong background in hiring, coaching, and talent development.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in interpersonal and written formats.
    • Familiarity with agile development best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience leading multi-team delivery programs and optimizing team performance.
    • Familiarity with business development, sales support, and proposal writing.
    • Understanding of small organizational management practices, including operational KPIs and financial metrics.
    • Experience managing managers.
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement.
    • Ability to drive change and growth while maintaining a strong team culture.
