Meet Your New Team


Geospatial Ontario is at the forefront of geospatial data management and innovation. Our work directly supports decision-making in natural resource management, environmental monitoring, infrastructure planning, agriculture, and more.


As the Manager, Geospatial Ontario, you will report to Larissa Mathewson-Brake, Director of Digital, Data, Information and Business Services Branch. With over 25 years in the Ontario Public Service (OPS), Larissa is known for her leadership, innovation, and commitment to excellence. She has led high-performing teams through strategic planning, modernization, and organizational change, with expertise spanning policy, IT, and corporate services.


Larissa is recognized for her empathetic leadership, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and fostering collaboration across the OPS. A strong advocate for good governance, she is also a dedicated mentor and coach, supporting career development and leadership growth.


You will provide strategic direction and mentorship to three unit supervisors and one administrative assistant, ensuring they are aligned with organizational goals and supported in their professional development. Indirectly, you will oversee up to 40 highly skilled technical professionals, including Geographic Information System (GIS) specialists, analysts, and infrastructure experts, who play a crucial role in geospatial data management and service delivery.


Your leadership will be key in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment. You will foster an open and supportive culture, empowering staff to collaborate, share ideas, and engage with stakeholders in meaningful ways.

Strategic Leadership and Management Skills
