Finance Specialist COE ID - 9594

Job Description

Your Growth

You will be an essential member of our Global Client Finance - Expertise Hub, working directly with finance managers, client service team leaders, colleagues within client finance, and various administrative functions within the Firm.

Based in North America, you will be part of a global team comprising 6+ accountants, senior accounts, and finance specialists from around the world, reporting directly to a North America-based Finance Expert.

You will also build strong relationships with client service teams and various stakeholders to steer the economics of engagements in line with policy and ensuring financial accuracy. You will be required to partner most closely with the c-suite level equivalent client service team and functional leaders in a variety of communication avenues, including email, phone and video-conference.

McKinsey is a non-hierarchical network organization, and we place a premium on low-ego, highly-collaborative colleagues, with strong general problem-solving and communication skills, who are able to navigate tricky situations and complex stakeholder groups, act through influence not authority, and craft solutions that balance sometimes competing needs.

In-office presence is expected for all colleagues.

Your Impact

In this role you will serve as a thought partner to client service teams as well as internal stakeholders and members of leadership for specialized engagement types, providing deep analytical support to manage the economics throughout the full engagement lifecycle (ensuring appropriate budgeting, revenue recognition, and billing/accounts receivable).

You will also provide critical forecasting and analyses while making appropriate recommendations, in a variety of environments, including 1:1 conversations with relevant stakeholders.

As a Finance Specialist within the broader Global Client Finance team, you will help to identify areas of opportunities, lead small projects and initiatives focused on performance and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with Firm finance policies. Additionally, you will provide ad-hoc analyses and global special project support as needed.

The Finance Specialist nurtures an increasing network and connectivity within the financial and office community by: maintaining a body of knowledge and expertise, including communicating the impact of changing practices and policies; collaborating with internal colleagues for process improvement and problem-solving; and mentorship and professional development support of junior colleagues.
