About the position

Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Part-time Admissions Assistant for the Evanston campus. This position will be supporting the MS in Machine Learning and Data Science Program's Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator with email correspondence and processing of applications during the admissions season which lasts eight months from October to May. The role is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess strong written communication skills, as well as a customer service mentality. The Admissions Assistant will be responsible for assisting prospective applicants with general questions regarding the application process or the program, ensuring a smooth and informative experience for all applicants. The primary responsibilities will consist of email correspondence focused on assisting prospective applicants with general questions regarding the application process or the program. Application processing will consist of preparing applications for evaluation by verifying that all materials have been received and are ready for evaluation. Additionally, the assistant will review standardized test scores and transcripts to highlight relevant courses, best overall scores, and any other important highlights in the application evaluation system, Slate. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the admissions process, ensuring that all applicants receive the attention and support they need during their application journey.
