DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to provide general administrative and clerical support for the Department.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.
  • Prepares documents using up-to-date Microsoft Office products.
  • Answers telephone inquiries from the public and directs calls to staff or other departments.
  • Receives and communicates messages, oral and written, to and from citizens, customers, staff, and other City personnel.
  • Copies and collates reports and documents.
  • Maintain files for day-to-day operations.
  • Separates mail, both US and interdepartmental, and routes to the intended recipient; prepares packages and envelopes for mailing.
  • Coordinates meetings for department leadership and maintains facility reservations.  
  • Orders office supplies and assists with projects as requested. 
  • Collects monies and issues receipts.
  • Uses computer software and performs administrative office duties as assigned.
  • Performs other work as assigned. 
Physical Demands:
  • Performs work that involves walking or standing some of the time. 
  • Involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis.
  • Sustained keyboard operations.
