The School of Nursing at California State University, Fullerton, has two tenure-track positions with appointments to begin in August 2024. The positions are:<br />
• Nurse Midwifery -Women’s Health Program (Open Rank)<br />
• Faculty member with content expertise relevant to advanced practice, leadership, or population health in graduate and undergraduate education, as well as the ability to support the scholarly culminating work of students. (Assistant Professor only)<br />

The school of Nursing (SON) is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Development. The SON has advanced nursing education in Southern California for almost fifty years. We offer a wide range of programs including entry level (prelicensure), RN-BSN, Master, and Doctor of Nursing Practice. We host the only Women Health Nurse Practitioner/Nurse-Midwifery program in Southern California and offer a School Nursing Credentialing program. Our graduates serve the local community, the state of California, and other states. They also serve in academic institutions, School Districts, and Departments of Public Health.<br />

CSUF Nursing faculty are committed teacher/scholars/clinicians who bring research and clinical practice to life for students in classrooms, clinical settings, and individually mentored projects. They teach across programs and serve on school, college, and university-wide committees. The primary responsibilities of the person in this position will be teaching clinical and didactic courses in their nursing expertise. They will include developing and teaching introductory and core courses in the discipline and developing courses in their area(s) of nursing specialization. Faculty will work with clinical partners to identify preceptors and settings in the Women’s Health Program and other advanced practice content areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing scholarship commensurate with the requirements for tenure and will be expected to contribute to and participate in the operation and advancement of the SON, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.<br />

Required Qualifications<br />
• An unencumbered California RN license before employment<br />
• Earned doctorate in nursing or related field and a B.S.N. or M.S.N. If doctorate is in progress, must be awarded prior to start of academic term<br />
• Record of accomplishments in research, teaching, and academic or professional service, appropriate for appointment at the rank of a tenure track assistant professor (less than five years teaching), associate professor (minimum five years teaching), or professor (minimum ten years teaching) in an accredited School or College of Nursing. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on our University and SON standards, including any prior service in a tenure-earning position<br />
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning (classroom, virtual, simulation, lab), and consistent with the nursing program’s vision, mission and goals demonstrated during on campus interview and presentation; eligibility for BRN approval is required if necessary for the area of content expertise<br />
• The ability to work collegially with diverse faculty, staff, and students<br />
• Commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students<br />
• Clinical specialization and experience in an area of registered nursing or advanced practice nursing, e.g., in psych/mental health, medical surgical nursing, pediatrics, obstetrics/women’s health, family practice, population/public health, leadership and/or informatics<br />
• In addition, supplementary required qualifications are:<br />
• For the position in the Nurse Midwifery-Women’s Health Program, national certification as a Nurse Midwife is required, with a preference for national certification as both a Nurse Midwife and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner<br />

Compensation<br />
<br />
The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $5,405 to $11,994 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring range is $7,500 to $7,656 per month. The Associate Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $6,190 to $13,172 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year). The Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $7,794 to $13,797 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year).<br />

Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm).<br />

Summer research grants, moving expenses, start-up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.<br />
