Business Project Manager II job in Colorado Springs ID - 9685
As a Business Project Manager II, you will oversee operational enhancement projects within the Support Services Division for the City of Colorado Springs. Using your expertise in project management and stakeholder collaboration, you will plan, budget, and implement projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proactive communication, problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while fostering relationships and driving operational excellence.
As a Business Project Manager II, you will:
Identify project needs, proactively manage operational enhancements, and oversee project budgets, including forecasting and analyzing costs.
Develop and estimate required resources, set project priorities, and establish schedules to ensure timely completion.
Lead facilities-related projects, collaborating across departments and Support Services to ensure quality and compliance.
Facilitate problem-solving activities with project teams, engaging appropriate resources to develop effective solutions.
Provide consultative and technical guidance to managers and stakeholders, addressing sensitive issues, complaints, or inquiries related to projects.
Direct, coordinate, and monitor the progress and implementation of assigned City projects, ensuring alignment with established goals.
Implement procedures to evaluate project effectiveness, maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and establish processes to ensure operational efficiency.
Work independently to expand the role as needed, taking ownership of new responsibilities while balancing multiple priorities and adapting to ambiguity.

Relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of effective project management techniques, including pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Modern office technology, especially Microsoft Office suite
Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Effective customer service and stakeholder engagement practices, including networking and relationship building.
Data-driven decision-making processes and working with diverse funding sources, such as grants and enterprise funds
Ability to:
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally, and in writing to various levels of stakeholders
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects from a variety of different departments, with a high degree of independence.
Effectively report project status updates, highlighting key issues, progress, and actionable insights.
Demonstrate self-motivation by proactively identifying and taking ownership of tasks and opportunities for improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, project management or a related field
Experience: Three years of full-time professional project management or business support experience
